Board and Train in Austin, TX

Your dog learns with me. You learn alongside them—with a private owner lesson every week your dog comes home.

Full Spectrum Canine’s board-and-train programs are tailored to your dog’s behavior and your goals. I work with obedience challenges, reactive dogs and high-drive dogs that need more structure and clearer communication.

$1,000 per week. I assess your dog in person before recommending a program or accepting a booking.

Who is board and train for?

Board and train may be a fit if your dog needs consistent professional work and you are ready to maintain the training at home. Goals can include more manageable walks, stronger obedience, better recall, settling and working through reactivity.

For dogs with complex behavior or a bite history, we begin by discussing the details and assessing whether I can help. Not every dog or household needs the same program.

How the process works

1. Tell me about your dog

Submit an inquiry with your dog’s age, breed, behavior challenges and your goals. Share any bite history or safety concerns so we can plan the next step properly.

2. Meet for an in-person assessment

I meet you and your dog before recommending a program. This lets us discuss expectations, training methods and whether the program is a good fit.

3. Build the training foundation

Your dog’s work is tailored to their needs. We focus on useful skills and consistent routines, with practice around appropriate distractions as they progress.

4. Learn how to carry the work home

Every week your dog comes home, we work together in a private lesson. You learn alongside your dog, practice the skills at home and get help with whatever feels difficult while the program is still underway.

Program cost and length

Board and train is $1,000 per week. The right program length depends on your dog, the in-person assessment and the goals we agree on.

Before you book, we will explain the recommended program, what is included, scheduling and payment terms. A price estimate is not a promise that a particular case can be resolved in a set number of weeks.

Meet your trainer

I’m Nick Moccia, founder of Full Spectrum Canine. I’ve trained dogs professionally since 2020 and focus on helping owners understand their dogs while building skills they can use outside a training session.

My approach is balanced. I explain the methods and tools I recommend during the consultation, including what you will need to learn and practice as the owner.

Questions about board and train

Will my dog listen to me after training?

Working with you is part of the program. Your dog learning skills with a trainer is only part of the process; you also need practice using the same communication and routines. We will discuss how to continue the work at home.

Can you work on aggression or a bite history?

Possibly, depending on the case. Tell me the full history before we meet. I assess the dog and the situation before accepting a program, and some cases need ongoing management or another provider.

What training methods do you use?

I use a balanced approach tailored to the dog. That may include rewards, structured routines and tools such as prong collars or e-collars when appropriate. We discuss the plan before you commit.

Do I choose the program length myself?

We decide on a recommendation after the assessment. Your goals matter, but so do your dog’s current skills, history and behavior. I will explain the reasoning behind the proposed length.

What happens on weekends, and what is included?

Your dog trains with me during the week and comes home for weekend practice. Every week they come home, we meet for a private owner lesson so you can learn the skills, ask questions and work through challenges at home. Before booking, we go over your schedule, equipment and follow-up arrangements.

Can I book without an assessment?

I meet dogs in person before accepting them into training. Start with an inquiry so we can decide whether to schedule the assessment.
